Commission: Surfing Blossom Emofuri by MykeGreywolf Commission: Surfing Blossom Emofuri by MykeGreywolf
A commission for outlaw4rc, who requested an emofuri animation of his pony OC Surfing Blossom. This is a reduced size version of the full file, which I made available to him alone.

Blossom was sure fun to draw and animate, and I tried quite a few new tricks with her, such as blending body parts and including shading on facial features. Her animation shows her cheerily grooving to some music, then making a slightly concerned speech, then shaking her head and breathing deep.

Fav'ed. This is just so cool. She looks very natural, even the hair looks good (which I believe is some of the hardest to get right).

Thank you! Along my attempts at emofuri works, you can see that I was able to improve it after observation of certain details of natural motion, and incorporating those things into the animation. Stuff like the bob whip and subtle changes in motion speed, those are all important to get a natural-looking result.

This is very gorgeous I love the animation and the artwork overall it looks so amazing  Sorry for asking but I've been using Emofuri for a while and I was wondering if you can tell me how you add different expressions and add and animate them when creating the animation?

Eh, this was quite a long ago, so I don't really remember the details. I do know that you have to draw the different facial features in your .psd file in different layers with specific names (all in japanese, of course). Figuring out what those names are for each expression is the hardest part. From there, there is a slider in the emofuri pose editor that allows you to switch between the expressions you created, separately for mouth, eyes, nose, eyebrows, etc.

Thank you for enjoying this.

Unfortunately not at this moment, or likely ever again. They're too much work for what seems reasonable to charge for them.

If you wouldn't mind noting me, I'd like to know how much they were. I'm willing to offer more :)

It's not a matter of how much they were. Think of how much you would like to be paid for three full eight-hour days of work. That is how long I would take (optimistically), and how much I would like to be paid.

Thank you so much for your interest, though. :)

It's all good. I do that naturally. the three days work thing. usually 8 hours per, if not more. like gifs take me 16 hours just to draw each frame....

I have to say... I may not enjoy mlp, but I certainly can appreciate this. I love the way your shading just makes her pop off the page and out of the background, and the program makes her look like she's an actual 3d model > u< Beautiful work

I'm glad that you're able to appreciate the work that went into this, it is in fact my emofuri prime opus. I hope to be able to do other works that you'll be able to enjoy as much. Thank you kindly.

Amazing work! May I ask how you added the background in Emofuri?

The lowest tree branch in the Emofuri software allows you to drag image files into the work area to create new, custom objects for your animation. With a certain combination of parameters on that object (which ones, I can't remember at this time), it is possible to set an image as fixed, regardless of the movement of the rest of the character. If you set the Z value for this object accordingly, it will appear behind the character, as a background.

Thank you for enjoying this!

It's all done with a software that allows warping and movement of the facial features correlating to parameters that correspond to many different body movements and expressions. ;)
